The main purpose of the role is to lead the sales process, identifying business opportunities and carrying out customer acquisition activities. The successful candidate develops business to win new customers and nurture the existing ones.
Main Responsibilities
- Proactively search and identify prospective customers through research and industry contacts. Establish and maintain a solid customer relationship with clients in Italy and Turkey for Mainline opportunities within an expected market value in the tens of millions of Euro
- Evaluate and analyze key industry trends impacting business, derive implications for current and potential strategies and develop those to gain market share; build up a pipeline of opportunities to ensure that sales targets are met.
- Create and establish a foundation to provide management with a constant pulse on industry trends and issues important to the business; develop bid winning strategies and strong capture plans
- Lead a cross-functional team of marketing, sales, government relations and bid management in all aspects of project identification, development, selection, bidding, negotiating and closing
- Present Alstom within the designed region; establish and maintain technical knowledge of own and competitor’s rail control products.
- University Degree in Engineering (preferred), Economy or a business-related subject
- 5 years of experience in a business development, sales or marketing role working preferably in the railway industry of heavy manufacturing, experience in project management is also welcome
- Strong evidence of customer relationship building skills, demonstrated understanding of current and future market challenges as well as competitor knowledge
