With significant professional responsibilities, you will be functionally reporting to the Lead People Partner DACH and interact with multiple stakeholders within Maersk, primarily within Contract Logistics (CL) landscape. In a matrix organization, you will collaborate with leaders, Strategic HR Business Partners and regional Front Line (FL) employee experience team for timely and quality execution of agreed people plans.
As our People Partner, you will especially partner with the Area Head of Fulfilled by Maersk (FbM) North Europe and site leaders in the team to build world-class Contract Logistics (CL) and landside capability to underpin and drive the transformation and our Fulfilled by Maersk Strategy (multiple site openings in the next 3 years). You will also lead the respective People & Organisation strategy implementations to attract, hire, develop and retain diverse world-class talent with the required competencies, and have them working in an optimised organisational design underpinned by an attractive, inspiring and engaging culture.
Key responsibilities
- With the leadership teams, co-own the Contract Logistics (CL) & Landside people agenda to enable the exponential growth planned in the next 5 years
- Partner with the regional Fulfilled by Maersk (FbM) Leaders to establish short and long term goals to drive business success ensuring the people agenda enables the respective Business strategies
- Act as partner and courageous coach to leaders & site managers helping them to develop and lead more impactfully. Drive the succession planning of key positions and long term talent development in the respective teams
- Support leaders through the annual HR cycle and partner with deployment teams on support needed for annual HR cycle implementation across the function
- Foster a culture where the Maersk behaviours and values are embedded and on which business decisions are made
- In coordination with local Labour Relations experts, provide Industrial and Labour Relations guidance through strong knowledge of dealing with Trade Unions and Workers Councils and awards to minimise risks and meet legislations where we operate.
- Support leaders in building high performing teams that are prepared for the future needs of the Logistics organisation, promoting a high-performance culture and addressing performance improvement needs within their teams
- Collaborate with regional HRBP for timely and quality execution of agreed people plans. Collaborate with and influence global design teams to ensure fit for purspose for the logistics organisation and implement same
- In coordination with Rewards colleagues, ensures our Rewards packages and structures are competitive and reflect the market, especially for certain segments of the skilled workforce (top talents, critical roles, hot skills/jobs, hot markets and niche skills)
- Proactively drive a culture of collaboration in the people function, contributing to projects that develop Maersk’s future HR policies and processes based on short-and long-term business needs

- Solid experience (8-10 years) as an HR generalist and/or People Partner - preferably in logistics - and deep understanding of HR fundamentals, including recruitment, people performance management, employee engagement, compensation, development, employee relations/local labor law
- Solid background managing frontline operational employees in best class front line people related companies
- Advanced knowledge of local labor law; experience from working in unionized environments
- Resilience and maturity in dealing with change and delivering results in challenging environments
- Experience from large international organisations and the ability to build relationships and navigate a complex stakeholder matrix
- Strong business acumen and data analytics skills
- Good change management, facilitation and coaching skills
- Experience in a ‘start-up’ or entrepreneurial environment would be useful
- Ability to take ownership and act autonomously, while also adopting a collaborative working style, fostering cooperation and teamwork to find solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
