With revenues of more than $40 billion and the largest investment in R&D in the industry, we give our people the resources and chances to create important contributions to the world.Location/Division Specific InformationThis position is field-based, with a remote home office location convenient to reach all customers within the assigned support territory (Germany).Division: Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD)Discover Impactful Work:As part of Global Applications for Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry, our application team supports the sales process, market growth and adoption of GC and GC-MS related products and workflows. You will provide technical pre-sales and post-sales application support to our GC-MS users across Germany. This includes customer training, on-site method implementation, technical advice of sales colleagues, occasional product demonstrations and support of scientific events. You will work in close collaboration with sales, service, marketing and R&D.A day in the Life:
  • Active contribution to the annual operating plan and the achievement of team and individual goals.
  • Coordinate your allocated customer activities for pre- and post-sales.
  • Support customers with on-site/remote high-quality application support resulting in customer happiness, repeat orders and establishing of a user-to-trusted consultant relationship.
  • Provide GC-MS application/workflow technical support to guide sales representative and customers to the best solution for their short- and long-term needs.
  • Support the introduction of new applications, workflows and products in GC-MS.
  • Collect and communicate market intelligence and voice of customer to relevant partners and managers.
  • Assist the review of customer training content, working closely with other scientists, marketing and product management colleagues.
Keys to Success:EducationAcademic Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science or equivalent experienceExperience and Other Skill Qualifications:
  • Several years of hands-on experience in gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Working experiences from an environmental laboratory would be an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven knowledge in GC-MS applications and workflows, including sample preparation, data acquisition and processing.
  • Knowledge of market trends and drivers in the GC-MS market.
  • Positive and energetic personality with strong sense of accountability, analytical and problem-solving skills, customer advocate.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills. Proven capabilities of teamwork, ability to share information, knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, to prioritize and seek support when needed, to meet goals.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in German and English would be a plus.
  • Driving License.
  • Willingness to travel mainly within the appointed region but also through Europe (expected travel time ~ 50%)
