Director of Finance and Controlling (m/w/d)

We are looking for an experienced Director Finance & Controlling to oversee the financial operations of the business and drive the company’s success through excellence in execution. You will be responsible for supporting the business in all operating aspects of finance: accounting, controlling, tax and transfer pricing. You need to be a seasoned leader providing the existing teams with guidance while building new functional teams and ultimately being responsible for the entire finance operations. Naturally, you will be working alongside the CFO and collaborate with other departments of the group. The role is essential to support a smooth international roll-out of the business.

Responsibilities:

• Improve the core finance function by rethinking processes, setting up and integrating financial systems and driving automation to support the business growth and international expansion
• Establish and lead the controlling team as well as tax expertise within the group in order to provide the business with adequate and reliable information
• Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks
• Conduct analysis to make forecasts and report to the management
• Oversee all audit and internal control operations
• Prepare monthly financial & non-financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Implement national & international transfer pricing policies between operating & financing entities within the group
• Grow existing risk management controls with regards to concentration limits and default rates
• Ensure lean and robust finance processes to support the continued growth of the business
• Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a senior finance leader (either at an audit/consulting firm or an operating company) willing to work in a high-growth environment
• Motivation to build state-of-the-art finance operations based on modern technologies
• Detailed knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS accounting standards
• Experience with larger group structures (consolidation of multiple entities, ideally cross-border)
• Strong understanding of German and international tax laws
• Previous experience in group controlling, ideally for an asset-heavy business
• Understanding of relevant risk metrics
• An analytical, critical and confident mindset with high standards
• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
