Our work depends on a Client Systems Engineer joining our team to maintain servers, software systems, and networks, and diagnose and resolve hardware, software, firmware and network problems.

HOW A CLIENT SYSTEMS ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Provides technical support in the management of networks, software, hardware, configurations, and architectures.

  • Configures, maintains and upgrades network connection devices, network hardware/software equipment, and automation equipment.

  • Administer user accounts, file permissions, and print queues.

  • Provide technical support to include troubleshooting user operating problems, application problems, system configuration issues and malfunctions, and network operating problems.

  • Provide research and information on emerging communications capabilities.

  • Identify, plan, and implement IT/communications solutions to support intelligence capabilities.

  • Design and develop communications and network solutions to support interoperability and information sharing across multiple networks, including allied integration in ACE, JADC2, and ABMS.

  • Monitor IT/communications performance and recommending/executing actions based on IT/Communications health and bandwidth.

  • Provides support for cryptologic and classified storage and processing communications of intelligence systems to ensure information availability, integrity, authentication, and confidentiality.

  • Provide lifecycle equipment maintenance support including software/hardware components.

  • Conduct Assessment and Approval (A&A) functions for SCI, PMO and Collateral systems. Support the Command Special Security Office (SSO) Information Assurance (IA) program as directed by USAFE-AFAFRICA, through periodic evaluations, XACTA database documentation, conducting A&A, developing Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).

  • Develop and maintain IT/Communications SOPs.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics or business/finance.

  • Required Experience: This position requires a minimum of four years of experience, of which at least three years must be specialized. Specialized experience includes knowledge of PC operating systems, e.g., DOS, Windows, as well as networking and mail standards and work on a help desk. General experience includes information systems development and other work in the client/server field, or related fields. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing and a positive customer service attitude.

  • Education and experience requirements may be substituted with an associate degree (in subjects described above) and six years general experience of which at least four years must be specialized experience or no degree and eight years general experience of which at least six years is specialized experience.

  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI

  • Required Certifications: DoDD 8570.01 IAT-II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE), Windows Server administrator certification, TESA eligibility/certification.

  • Location: On Customer Site

  • US Citizenship Required
