HOW A NETWORK ENGINEER SR ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to complex problems.

  • Designs and develops communications and network solutions to support interoperability and information sharing across multiple networks, including allied integration in ACE, JADC2, and ABMS.

  • Provides engineering expertise to deliver rapid technical capability enhancements of systems and networks to enable ACE maneuvers, counteract cyber threats, and improve exquisite intelligence activities.

  • Provides technical inputs/recommendations to meet near and mid-term project requirements.

  • Develops and implements migration/deployment plans and procedures management teams through design, development, and implementation.

  • Provides engineering support including engineering new and optimized interoperable solutions.

  • Deploys, sustains, troubleshoots, and repairs network infrastructure systems, and IP detection systems.

  • Provides performance-engineering, optimization, systems configurations analysis.

  • Provides system change support or troubleshooting system support.

  • Provides technical recommendations on current and planned projects (involving technologies, methodologies, tools, etc.) to improve system performance.

  • Supports rapid technical capability enhancements of systems and networks to counteract cyber threats and improve cyber posture.

  • Investigates and provides technical recommendations and guidance on technology topics as requested by the Government.

  • Provides technical recommendations on current and planned projects (involving technologies, methodologies, tools, etc.) to improve network optimization.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software engineering/programming, management, natural sciences, social sciences, mathematics, or business/finance.

  • Required Experience: This position requires a minimum 10 years of experience, of which at least four years must be specialized: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering, configuring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure.

  • Three years additional applicable experience may be substituted for a degree.

  • Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI

  • Required Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) is required; Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) is preferred. CCNP/CCIE may be any type (e.g., Collaboration, Routing and Switching, Security, or Service Provider, etc.), DoDD 8570.01M IAT II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE), TESA eligibility/certification.
