Qontigo is currently seeking a Project Portfolio Manager, Principal Level to amend our international PM team. The ideal candidate will have strong project portfolio management, process management, communication, and presentation skills as well as enthusiasm for helping develop and implement cutting edge solutions to support our index business incl. high-profile brands such as DAX and STOXX indices.

Responsibilities
  • Apply project and project portfolio management best practices to our QONTIGO project portfolio incl. risk management and status updates to Senior Management members
  • Monitor the end-to-end management of the entire project lifecycle (initiation, budgeting, planning, implementation and closing) of a selected project portfolio across a global organization with cross functional teams such as engineering, product, development, operations, research, and quants
  • Perform analysis of schedules and collaborate with stakeholder groups to ensure that appropriate resources are allocated to projects to ensure successful and timely completion.
  • Manage project and business risks incl. transparent management reporting
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Establish and manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Create Steering Committee presentations for Senior Management Members and Shareholder Committees
  • Support the Head of Project Management in rolling out a global Project Portfolio Management approach and Project Governance Framework
  • Mentor junior PM and PMO resources across locations
Qualifications
  • University degree in business administration or comparable qualification
  • More than 3 years experience in a similar position
  • Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP, Prince II)
  • Good understanding of software development and project lifecycles (e.g. Scrum)
  • Experience with Project Portfolio Management Software (e.g. Asana, Wrike, Jira, etc.)
  • Financial and Accounting knowledge beneficial
  • Good understanding of financial markets
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including MS Project
  • Experience with JIRA, MS Project or similar project tracking software
  • Open minded, proactive, highly organized personality with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, empathy and the ability to work in an international team
  • High commitment and motivation, distinct readiness to take on responsibility
  • Ability to work under pressure and high degree of reliability/flexibility
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, German language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel (20%)
