The Role / Opportunity

The Strategy and Operations Projects Manager is a key cross-functional team leader, responsible for the delivery of complex, business improvement initiatives. This is a high-impact opportunity for an individual with strong conceptual thinking, project management, and qualitative and quantitative skills, working across senior stakeholder groups to deliver transformational outputs, profitable growth for Wayfair, and a perfect order experience for our customers.

We are looking for an experienced, detail orientated Manager to independently own and deliver strategic and operational projects across our European Supply Chain and Partner Operations organisations. The successful candidate will execute high profile, high visibility projects, with the opportunity to drive real business change across our organisation.

What You Will Do

  • Own and deliver high profile strategic and operational projects in the area of Wayfair’s Partner Operations; this role goes beyond portfolio management with a bias towards initiative ownership and end-to-end delivery.
  • Own and deliver projects end to end taking on ideas at problem statement level with responsibility for discovery, structuring & scoping problems through to delivering the final end product, process, tool or solution.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with warehouse, logistics, customer service and our supplier-facing organisations to scope, manage and deliver operational change projects.
  • Partner with non-operational stakeholders (e.g. Engineering, Finance and BI) to identify, scope and deliver projects to drive operational change and step change improvements
  • Drive consistent standards of project management, process engineering, communication, and change management activities across Partner Operations and the wider organisation.
  • Partner with Finance to align and ensure projects are continually aligned with P&L revenue generating and cost reduction targets, monitoring P&L impact continuously.
  • Build compelling business cases for change to secure engineering resources to drive automation and enforce tracking of project success against predefined KPIs and metrics.
  • Collaborate internationally with our US based teams to drive global alignment of all projects across the supply chain organisation
  • Collaborate across our EU Sites (Berlin and London), some travel will be required
  • Cultivate effective relationships within Wayfair operational leadership and senior business partners across the organisation.

What You Will Need

  • A background in Consulting , E-Commerce, Retail, Consumer Goods or High-Growth Technology Company is advantageous
  • Significant Years of work experience- Degree in Business / Logistics / Engineering / Supply Chain / Operations or MBA is a plus
  • Experience delivering Projects from problem statement level through to discovery, planning, delivery and embedding into business as usual processes
  • The ability to break down complex problems into clear, tangible delivery plans
  • Strong Project Management experience, PMP / PRINCE / lean sigma / Agile certification is a plus
  • Data Fluency in Excel (Advanced) is a must, SQL, Python or other programming languages is a plus
  • Commercial awareness, business acumen and problem solving skills
  • An open personality and confidence to work with senior business partners
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with experience managing executive level stakeholders
  • Experience managing and building relationships cross functionally
  • A desire to work in and improve upon a fast-paced technology-driven business environment.
