Cerabyte is a startup based out of Munich that aims to revolutionize worldwide data storage. We develop data storage technology that offers access speeds and storage density that is superior to HDDs but consumes no energy for storage.

Cerabyte aims to end the massive energy consumption and waste of resources conventional data storage entails. By joining Cerabyte, you will actively contribute to making data storage radically more efficient and thus contribute to meeting global climate goals.


Responsibilities

  • Development of Java applications for data processing
  • Deployment of applications in the cloud using container technology
  • Design of scalable data processing and storage architectures for the cloud
  • Working with the technical management team in shaping the software architecture of Cerabyte’s systems

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a software engineer, preferably working with Java.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and querying relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with deploying applications as docker containers.
  • Experience in designing applications for the cloud, preferably AWS.
  • Ability to design and deploy Restful APIs.
  • Working knowledge of GIT version control.
  • Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and expand your skills on the job.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Permission to work in the European Union / Germany.

Nice to Have

  • A degree in computer science
  • Experience designing and building distributed systems in the cloud
  • Experience with S3 storage technology and non-relational databases
  • AWS Certification (AWS Architect, Developer, etc.)
