As Head of Controlling & Fraud Prevention you will play a key role in providing financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and ensure the company’s financial performance and sustainability. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial controlling, budgeting, and forecasting activities within the organization. You will work with talented and passionate people that are industry experts. As Head of Controlling & Fraud Prevention you will have an impact from day one by sharing your expertise, best practices and innovative approaches within the METRO Markets teams.

Some of your other main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Financial Planning and Analysis,
  • Cost Controlling and Optimization,
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance,
  • Team Leadership and Development,
  • Strategic Decision Support.

You’ve got
  • In-depth understanding of financial analysis, financial reporting, and financial performance metrics, esp. regarding interrelations of P&L, balance sheet and cash-flows.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, cost accounting, and variance analysis.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, ERP software, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling principles
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build and develop successful teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a strategic and hands-on mindset in a fast-paced environment
  • Business Acumen & ability to translate financial data into actionable business recommendations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Adminitration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) would be a plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (our company language)
