Then the Software Development team in Fulfillment Center (FC) Operations Tech IT (Ops Tech IT) wants you!

The Software Development team in FC-Ops Tech IT in Barcelona is seeking an outstanding Frontend Engineer to design and develop user interfaces for single page applications.

The candidate will work in the area of software development for different internal customers in Amazon with focus on internal applications in the project management area. The specific task will be the technical design and development to optimize an internal project management application. Main focus will be on the development of web-based single page applications including testing, documentation, and deployment in worldwide Amazon locations.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science (or related discipline) with focus on application/software development
  • Hands-on industry experience in web-oriented application design especially for user interface development based on JavaScript frameworks.
  • Deep programming knowledge in JavaScript and TypeScript
  • Expert knowledge in frontend frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Expert knowledge in HTML5 and CSS3
  • Familiarity in object-oriented programming
  • Experience in the area of modular and scalable software development
  • Work and collaborate within a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Well-founded knowledge in another programming language (e.g., Java, Ruby/Rails, Perl)
  • Experience with CSS extensions (e.g., Sass) and build tools for JavaScript (e.g., Webpack)
  • Knowledge in Test-driven development: unit tests and integration tests
  • Experience with libraries for graphical visualization of data (e.g., D3.js)
  • API programming experience (e.g., XML, JSON, REST)
  • Basic network knowledge and Linux console
  • Experience with version management systems such as Git and documentation systems like JSDoc
  • Ability to work to together with internal customers located in international Amazon sites
  • Understanding of complex processes
  • Flexibility and creativity when solving problems
  • Willingness for autonomous/discrete work and continuous self-development
