Associate Director* CMO

At BioNTech, you will contribute to our market supply in shaping the business relationships and developing the performance of our CMOs. From the sourcing of potential facilities and contractors that match with our strategy through to the proper execution and fulfillment according out demand. Your main responsibilities are:
  • Managing and coordinating all commercial aspects of the cooperation for your assigned Contract Manufacturing Organizations, with all necessary internal and external stakeholders and experts
  • Sourcing of potential manufacturers for new capabilities and/or capacities, also as preparation for make-or-buy decisions and based on your market knowledge provide valuable insights to the internal stakeholders
  • Preparing and negotiating the contracts and amendments - supported by our legal counsel
  • Implementing requirements, changes and CAPAs aligned with especially Quality, Product Development, Production Experts, Production Planning and overall strategies
  • Facilitating the proper execution of agreements, demand planning (forecasts) vs. production plans of the CMOs and the ordering process in our ERP system
  • Monitor, report and develop the performance of each CMO and take care for claims management as well as complaints

What you have to offer.

  • Academic Degree in business administration, pharmaceutical production, process technology, chemistry or others close to external production for our core business
  • Yearlong record of experience with contract manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry and GMP environments
  • Result-oriented working style with good analytical and communicational skills
  • Adequate knowledge of the relevant legal requirements in this category
  • Ability to work in cross-functional business processes with diverse partners, stakeholders, counterparts aiming for a continuous, sustainable development of the procured value add
  • Pragmatic, hands-on mentality together with profound German and English skills (both written and spoken)
