Description And Requirements

Lenovo Workstations offer leading edge solutions for customers in key vertical segments including Engineering/CAD, media and entertainment, data science, AI/deep learning, medical/healthcare, oil and gas, and finance. The automotive industry continues to be a growth opportunity, and we are seeking a Workstation Customer Solutions Engineer that will focus on growth in this significant market.

As a part of the Workstation Customer Solutions Team, you will be integrated in the global structure reporting to our Senior Manager Customer Solutions, located in North America. Some of your responsibilities will be to:
  • Engage with and provide technical support for customers, account teams, and resellers within the automotive vertical.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support for all incoming questions and issues.
  • Work with our Performance Engineering Team to analyze performance related metrics proposed by customers and provide accurate and timely technical responses to those requests.
  • Interface with workstation generalists and account teams within the geography to support their pre-sales technical issues and questions.
  • Learn about new technology, how it’s being applied in the automotive industry, and facilitate our sales/account teams to provide solutions to meet the needs of these emerging technologies.

In return, this is what we expect from you:
  • B.S. and/or M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field.
  • Experience with PC/Workstation system engineering and design.
  • Technical understanding of current PC architecture and design trends.
  • General knowledge of BIOS, Windows/Linux operating systems, device drivers, and how these systems work together.
  • Excellent technical debug and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of common software applications used in the automotive industry.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of both small focused teams and larger cross-functional teams.
  • Flexible team player with an attention to detail and a customer first attitude.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English
