EPAM is growing rapidly and we are looking to expand our consulting expertise with more subject matter experts aligned to the telecommunications, media and entertainment domain to meet the ever-expanding demand from our client base.

You would become part of and help shape a newly formed team, responsible for defining and performing specialised telecoms consultancy within EPAM and our client base. As a multifaceted individual you may play multiple roles that included client facing subject matter expert, pre and post sales systems architect, systems integration, strategic thought leadership and industry representative.

What You Have

  • Bachelor or MSc degree level in a relevant area e.g. computer engineering, software design/development, telecommunications, etc
  • Fluent in English language with strong written, verbal, presentation & communication skills
  • At least 5 years experience in the telco, media, and entertainment sector, resulting in a significant industry understanding
  • At least 5 years of experience in strategy, architecture or design within the telecommunications industry
  • Ability to communicate and work at all levels of an organisation from C-level presentations to technical working groups
  • Familiar with relevant leading and emerging technologies and their associated value/impact of change
  • Comfortable to promote technology consulting activities and best practices
  • Experience with contributing towards technical pre-sales and defined business development activities
  • Demonstrated understanding of business context on customer side by:
    • understanding and describing technology and business context
    • identifying gaps in technology, architecture and business process
    • proposing high-level recommendations to address the gaps
  • Ability to develop and present technology roadmaps showing the sequence and dependencies of prioritised technology initiatives/programs linked to timeline
  • Excellent understanding of how technology is adopted to enable business outcomes with the ability to formulate associated technology strategy
  • Previous experience in business case creation to underpin technology transformation with associated drivers and expected benefits including: digital channel shift, legacy IT transformation and automated orchestration
  • Awareness of or active participation in relevant industry bodies and forums
  • Technical Skills & Experience:
    • A subject matter expert on any given area of telecommunication IT oriented solutions required to accelerate digital transformation: CRM (e.g. salesforce), CPQ (e.g. Vlocity), cloud-native and serverless technologies (e.g. GCP, Azure, AWS) and modern web standards (e.g. REST, HTML5 and WebRTC)
    • OR
    • A subject matter expert on any given area of telecommunications network orientated solutions required to drive product transformation: OSS/Orchestration (e.g. blueplanet), MEC, 5G, IoT
    • An appreciation of telecommunications IT-oriented solutions around data science and decisioning (e.g. pega)
    • Previous experience in developing or designing complex client-server systems, and a good understanding of both digital frontend and backend components and challenges
    • Knowledge of microservices architecture, design patterns and associated technology stacks
    • Good understanding of the DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and its relation to agile methodologies and incremental development
    • Experience in writing technical documentation for systems design/architecture specifications, including the use of UML, block diagrams, sequence diagrams, etc
    • Exposure to and understanding of Internet, TCP/IP Systems and Protocols, and Unix based systems

Responsibilities

  • Contribute towards the definition of the strategy for the telecommunications consulting team and broader telco and media business unit by:
    • regularly engaging with clients to understand new business opportunities that would naturally extend EPAM’s core capabilities or drive significant growth
    • regularly engaging with EPAM account leads to understand existing and future pain points across the client base
    • conducting industry research to assess the size of emerging trends and defining steps for EPAM to align the current competency or develop new skills
    • identify potential partners to align with EPAM and extend our capabilities
    • document our strategic intent, architectural trends and roadmap and regularly communicate to stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development on existing and new accounts:
    • support account team in pre-sales activities including pitch meetings, RFP responses etc
    • directly generate new opportunities by analysing the European telecommunications market (or aligned verticals) and engaging technology or business leaders
    • continually raise the profile of EPAM by identifying and participating in relevant industry events and seeking accreditations or endorsements by influential industry bodies
  • Work directly in a client(s) engagement on a part time basis or as required in capacity of one of the following:
    • consultant: advising on digital transformation, legacy IT transformation, value application creation (e.g. IoT, 5G)
    • subject matter expert: identifying and assessing customer pain points and creating delivery work packages for EPAM teams to perform
    • solution architect: as staff augmentation within a client or within an EPAM managed outcome to produce enterprise level architecture and service design across network or IT domains
