Your role

As our first (Senior) Accountant, you are responsible for all accounting related matters and processes. You will become part of more than a support team. In fact, you will be part of an ambitious and driven team with the mission to develop our Finance department towards a strong business partner function driving financial literacy across the company. As the owner of our accounting processes working together with our external accountants, you build the financial backbone and foundation while ensuring compliance. This role has the potential to develop towards a team lead position in the accounting area in the mid-term.

In this role you will

  • Be responsible for our financial accounting, including accounts receivables and accounts payables accounting
  • Directing and participating in the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings and further professionalizing the process (e.g. fast close, reporting)
  • Lead and perform projects to further develop and improve accounting, including accounting-related processes
  • Implement and continuously improve our internal controls system and our accounting systems landscape
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the company, e.g. in financing rounds
  • Single point of contact for external (payroll) accounts and auditors
Your profile

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in auditing and/or accounting, preferably in a “Big 4” audit firm (or equivalent) or a fast-growing B2B tech, software or SaaS environment
  • Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Proactive mindset with a passion to build from scratch and drive continuous improvement
  • Tech-savvy, curiosity-driven, low-ego approach to collaboration, and a willingness to take ownership and push projects to completion
  • Effective communication with stakeholders across the company, demonstrated by the ability to explain complex topics in an understandable way
  • Plus but optional: German certified public accountant (Wirtschaftsprüfer/in) or equivalent; strong IFRS knowledge
