Research Scientist in the field of Precision Cardiology - Cardiomyocyte platform (f/m/d)


Our team is focused on the use of advanced in vitro models and 3D engineered heart tissue that closely mimic human cardiac muscle physiology and disease pathophysiology. We aim to use EHT as platform for disease modelling, target validation, drug development and omics analysis. The Research Scientist (f/m/d) will be involved in the optimization and development of new methodologies that will enable early target validation in human disease-like background. The position will work in an enthusiastic environment composed by researchers and scientists from different backgrounds.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Culture and expand and genetically edit hIPSCs
  • Differentiate hIPSC to high quality cardiomyocytes
  • Be responsible for disease modelling using EHTs and identify and validate drug targets
  • Develop novel/optimized EHT-protocols and functional assays
  • Take over molecular characterization of cardiomyocytes/EHTs (qRT-PCR, western blotting, immunostaining, and imaging)
  • Efficiently plan and organize research projects to assure timely delivery of high-quality data and enable decision making
  • Present results in project teams and scientific focus groups
  • Train technical staff in cardiomyocyte assay technologies


WHO ARE YOU

  • PhD in Life Sciences (e.g. biology, biochemistry, pharmacy) with first experience as a Postdoc in academia
  • Excellent experience in iPSC culture and engineered heart tissue
  • Good knowledge about gene-editing technology
  • Experience in qRT-PCR, ELISA, WB
  • Strong wish to establish and optimize new analytical technologies and projects
  • Good communication and presentation skills as well as strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional international team and moving projects forward
  • Excellent in English, both written and spoken
