ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

NP Digital is seeking an experienced successful leader with a proven history of managing complex and strategic search & performance marketing clients to be Managing Director at our new Germany office. The primary responsibility for this role is to drive excellence and innovation as a leader, while acting as a consultative partner to clients and staff, and as a catalyst for growth within our agency as we continue to expand. This person will act as a liaison to our senior executive team in the United States, helping execute against P&L objectives in that region, and helping manage and influence clients in Europe.

As the lead executive in the Germany office, you are responsible for the overall quality of work, client satisfaction, office culture and the quality and engagement of the staff. This includes setting a strategic vision, as well as day-to-day management and operations of the office, support in hiring and training new staff, achieving revenue and profitability targets, and contribution to new client acquisition.

The ideal candidate for this role has a well-rounded digital background, superior leadership skills, and hands-on experience managing a regional office with multiple clients, production teams, and direct reports in a performance agency setting, acting as a bridge between the office and our headquarters.

Candidates must reside in Germany and be bilingual in German and English.

ABOUT THERESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute the company’s business strategies for the Germany office in order to attain the established growth and profitability goals
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with global executive leadership, business partners and employees
  • Oversee the company’s financial performance
  • Delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of management team, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximize performance
  • Recommend strategies to reward performance
  • Establish processes prevent issues and quickly resolve problems
  • Build the NP Digital reputation and thought leadership in ways that strengthen our brand in the European market
  • Analyze problematic situations and occurrences and provide solutions to ensure company survival and growth
  • Lead the coordination and direction of internal and external teams to deliver for NP Digital’s clients across a wide array of industries.
  • Set the gold standard for 5-star client service and support, serving as the acting liaison with senior client management
  • Supervise and set direction of activities for accounts, including client needs, staffing, strategy, quality of work and budgeting
  • Oversee the efficiency and profitability of the region’s key clients, keeping the team’s largest projects on track while hitting target margins
  • Acting as a point of escalation for clients and internal team members alike
  • Establish yourself as a source of credibility and industry expertise with executive level client stakeholders
  • Proactively identify potential budgetary and resource issues, keeping projects on track while hitting target margins
  • Keep senior management apprised of key client opportunities, potential risks and other key nuances which affect the health of the business
  • Build a high-performance team through coaching and developing, problem solving, and demonstrating a positive attitude and culture of accountability
  • Responsible for setting up the business entity and bank accounts in Germany


ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience as Managing Director or other regional leadership position for a digital marketing agency
  • 10+ Years experience in a digital marketing agency setting with hands-on experience in Performance Marketing and integrated digital strategy
  • Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
  • Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Preferred background in client services within a performance marketing agency, with responsibility for overall strategy for retention, growth, and satisfaction of accounts across the teams
  • Proven ability to manage a regional P&L with an understanding of business finance process and best practices
  • A history of working on large well-known brands in a variety of industries, including Enterprise level clients
  • Experience building and growing client relationships at the VP/C-level
  • Experience managing and growing a team of direct reports, including the ability to mentor and lead by example
  • Successful candidate should have a strong network in the Digital marketing / Performance marketing space
