What’s the role

This IT Advisor Data role is the perfect job to stretch your technical skills and commercial knowledge, with a great opportunity to make a real impact on our core business, helping us to implement and manage the overall data agenda at the Rheinland Chemicals and Energy Park.

Data is key to our digital transformation and the IT Data Advisor will play a key role in bringing the data transformation to the end-users and support the Chief Data Officer in implementing the data strategy.

Shell implemented a Do-It-Yourself data program where end users are encouraged to build their own PowerBI and PowerApp based capabilities. The IDT Advisor Data ‘owns’ this program for the local site. This means that you serve as a data coach for the users at the site and act as first point of contact for the Do-It-Yourself developers, guiding them throughout their Do-It-Yourself journey and helping them learn the tools, standards, and best practices of this new data capability. You will also help to establish a local community at site to reap the most value from data by providing upskilling opportunities, and a channel for cross-departmental sharing.

Beyond these data aspects, the IT Advisor Data is a link between the business and the central IT teams and will also take ownership of complex and important IT related activities at the site and drive these through to deliver the desired business outcomes. This requires you to ensure the complex triangle of data, processes and technology is well managed and embedded in the organization.

Finally, you will also utilize your knowledge of the latest technologies in the market and your IT expertise to drive business intelligence and inform the future IT strategy that will keep us ahead of the market.

What we need from you

We are keen to talk to German-speaking women and men with (at least) a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience, with expertise in IT and, preferably, exposure to data engineering.

Beyond this, we are looking to see as much of the following as possible on your CV:

• Knowledge of Asset and Customer processes, as relevant for an Energy and Chemicals Park.

• Proficiency in app development and data visualization.

• Proven experience with the Power Suite (PowerBI, PowerApps, MS Dynamics, Flow,…) or equivalent tools.

• Proven ability to manage complexity within IT implementations.

• Strong Stakeholder Management skills.

• A commercial mindset.

• Information Management knowledge.
