The successful candidate is required to ensure tax compliance and constantly look to improve the accuracy and consistency of tax reporting for the entities within SSC. A key element of the role is to perform the controls defined and implemented and to suggest improvements where identified. The focus is on VAT but the tax advisor can be also involved in tax accounting, tax audits and support for transfer pricing. This position involves also solid and consistent interaction with different streams and departments, including tax external providers and fiscal auditors

Main responsibilities

Management of Business Partner Relationshi p

  • Exercises business partnership by supporting decision-making through proactive delivery of value adding information and knowledge from Tax perspective.
  • Acts as business partner towards Group Taxation counterparts and SSC teams.
  • Support Group Taxation & Taxation Specialist (SSC) in doing detailed analysis of transactions to help solve queries from Tax Authorities or the business.
  • Support Group Taxation & Taxation Specialist (SSC) in the implementation of controls to be performed in order to be compliant as required by the Authorities.
  • Support Group Taxation & Taxation Specialist (SSC) in the implementation of all the process standardization and improvement initiatives in order to be compliant as required by the Authorities
  • Follow-ups with: procurement, controlling, local finance, SSC finance, tax advisors.
Operational Performance Management

  • Ensures the delivery of daily and periodic activities according to SLA and OLA commitments.
  • Ensures the delivery of controls according to SLA and OLA commitments.
  • Close collaboration with tax team and business partners (Group Taxation) for the resolution of complex issues and queries.
  • Ensures the delivery of tax-related reportorial requirements of the country assigned, including, but not limited to, domestic and foreign VAT computations, Intrastat Reports, EC Sales List and other analysis as requested.
Others:
  • Ensures that all KPI’s and targets according to AES are achieved.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports/statistics, if required.
  • Prepares and contantly updates documentation (desktop procedures) on assigned processes including related or applicable internal controls.
  • Performs other periodic activities or ad hoc tasks as assigned.
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of the General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Closing & Reporting functions through the identification of areas for continuous improvement, providing input and information to achieve problem resolution.
Technical/Financial Standards Management

  • Ensures compliance with general accounting and reporting policies and procedures and period end routines.
  • Ensures compliance with Group instructions.
  • Ensures compliance with Bombardier Accounting Manual (BAM).
  • Ensures compliance with fixed asset policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with audit and internal requirements as defined by OSC, CASRA and E&Y.
  • Ensures adherence to admin policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Functional Knowledge

Education

  • Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Economic field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an Accounting/Economic department, of advantage in General Ledger accounting or in external audit field
  • Familiar with International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience in SAP ERP system is a plus
  • PC literate (MS-office tools)
Relevant experience required

  • Experience in VAT compliance rules, including Intracomunity transactions, Exports, Imports, Domestic transactions, EU legislation, Foreign Registration, Intrastat, IC Sales List, VAT declarations/VAT return.
  • Experience in tax accounting.
