ABOUT THE ROLE AND THE TEAM

As our Strategy Associate in the CEO Office, you directly report into our Chief of Staff Julian and work closely together with our Founder and CEO Christian, the rest of our CEO Office Team and strategic external partners.

You will be sitting next to Julian and Christian and work on the same things they do. Whether it’s defining processes on how to lead the company through context & KPIs, being actively involved in internal and external communication or preparing the weekly all hands meetings, bi-weekly strategy rounds, monthly leadership rounds or board updates - you will be in the first line and as close as it gets to the company wide strategy.

This is the perfect role for someone who wants to be close to strategy and management to eventually become a founder him-/herself or grow into a strategic/ operational role.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

-- Internal communication: Actively support sharing context in the firm. While we are now at a size where we have teams for most projects, the majority of the firmwide communication comes directly from the CEO office. You will be a crucial part in preparing communication for core projects and, more importantly, own the coordination and execution of those - this can be setting up and preparing fireside chats for our new VP Engineering, gathering data from our Leadership round breakouts or writing a memo on how we think about effective meetings at Trade Republic.

-- Ad Hoc operational and strategic support: This is not a coffee boiling job. Rather, imagine Christian needing to hire a Head of Recruiting and Julian being busy setting up compensation frameworks. Well, Christian will rely on you to screen the market for what greatness looks like for that position and Julian will ask you to analyze the company wide impact on the P&L and whether burn is feasible.

-- Coordination of core projects and resources: Part of your job is helping Julian and Christian to focus on what’s most important for Trade Republic. Ways to do that are to collect firm wide KPIs, help set goals and dive deep once we are getting off track. Another way would be by setting up firm wide org charts, including reporting lines and growth assumptions, based on the strategy meetings you are part of, to see where we are missing talent in core positions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

-- Service Mentality: You will need to have a low ego for this role. Many projects that you will be involved in are either confidential or ad hoc which makes it hard to get others on board. You need to be willing to do the groundwork and lead projects end to end if necessary.

-- Energy: The ideal person for this job is proactive, outgoing, self-motivated, and most importantly, fun to work with. You should distinguish yourself from others through your eagerness to learn and ability to integrate easily in new settings.

-- Zero defect: We are looking for analytical fire-power. Someone that takes pleasure in going into details and is able to do so quickly.

-- Confidentiality: As a member of the CEO office you will be as close to our company wide strategy as possible. Understanding the responsibilities that come with that is crucial for us.

We are looking for candidates who bring experience in fast paced environments. This being said, you will not be leveled based on your tenure/ experience - what we are looking for is your effectiveness and output.

Candidates can come from all types of background, but near perfect command of the English language is required.
