For our blade production, based in Nussloch/Heidelberg, we are looking for a Senior Blade Expert Engineer (f/m/d). In this role, parts of your responsibilities will be:

Main Duties:
  • Evaluation and optimization of blade performance in different applications.
  • Specification, investigation and optimization of the properties of steel materials for blade production
  • Optimization of metalworking manufacturing processes such as grinding, hardening, coating, stamping in close cooperation with production
  • Establishment and operation of a laboratory infrastructure
  • Investigation of competitive products
  • Cooperation with suppliers in the development of technologies to improve product quality
  • Cooperation with external institutes and laboratories
Qualifications & Experiences:
  • Completed technical studies in materials science or mechanical engineering, here preferably materials engineering / materials science (metals) (Dipl.-Ing., Bachelor, Master, DR.) or comparable education.
Sound experience in at least three of the following areas:
  • Production of cutting tools (e.g. knives, blades)
  • Optimization of the properties of steel materials (e.g. hardening)
  • Separating manufacturing processes for steel materials (e.g. punching, grinding)
  • Surface treatment of steel materials (e.g. coating)
  • Analysis and optimization of product properties and processes (e.g. by means of Six Sigma / DoE)
Further we would like you to have:

Flexibility, ability to work in a team, creativity, strong communication skills and self-initiative

Experienced in the use of MS-Office

Very good written and spoken German and English language skills

Experienced in the use of MS-Office
