Project Engineer (f/m/d)

Working as a Project Engineer, you will plan and execute the engineering and commissioning activities in the ABB office and on the project site for various DCS and HMI projects in ABB Power Generation Water business in Germany In this role, you will make technical recommendations in various phases of customer projects to ensure successful delivery of project deliverables on time, within budget and in line with quality and safety guidelines.

This position reports to

Head of Electrical Engineering and Commissioning

Your responsibilities

• Assisting project managers and project lead engineers in technical reviews and discussions with customers, partners, subcontractors and vendors
• Assisting contract managers with claims, customer specifications and safety standards
• Creating and delivering the work plan and budget, as well as risk assessments relevant to your engineering discipline
• Helping customers resolve technical issues both remotely and at customer sites in Germany and elsewhere abroad
• Maintaining and enhancing customer satisfaction by providing excellent service at all stages of the project

Your background

• Several years of professional experience in wastewater treatment plants, locks and waterworks, working as commissioning-/service-engineer
• Sound knowledge of engineering techniques, processes and tools, including 800xA, Symphony plus, AC800M, AC500
• Safe handling of VMware, network technology and servers
• A strong focus on safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines
• A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies
• Willingness to travel domestic and abroad
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills
• Studies or technician in electrical engineering automation or a similar field
• Fluent written and spoken German and good English skills
