(Senior) System Test Manager – Communication (m/f/d)

YOUR TEAM

We are developing the technical heart of the car, and this consists of the highly integrated computing platforms for different domains like Infotainment, Cockpit, Body, Connected Vehicle and more. Our team is a specific unit within the architecture and development Department, responsible for all communication-relevant aspects from ECU internal to ECU external communication to the rest of the vehicle, typically via Ethernet or CAN-FD.

Our responsibility spans from the selection of the needed Hardware (Ethernet switches or CAN-FD transceivers) of low-level, hardware-based technologies (like Ethernet PHYs or EMACs), throughout the specification, implementation and verification of all relevant system enablers for the communication over Ethernet and CAN-FD. Moreover, our team is responsible for OS-level features such as IP-Stack and Firewall but also for the service discovery and service communication protocols like SOME/IP and ViWi over Ethernet.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Define and continuously refine test strategy and processes covering all areas and system levels (SYS.4 partly, SYS.5 fully) in the Communication feature testing
• Collaborate with the development team, external test suppliers, internal customers and implementation suppliers (e.g. Tier1) to develop, define and implement an effective and efficient testing strategy
• Coordinate and supervise the test definition and execution processes and ensure traceability with responsible testers on respective levels, enable the external test supplier by providing HW, SW to be tested and necessary infrastructure
• Be able to debug / resolve issues in the test setups and test procedures together with the development experts and the external test supplier
• Consolidate test results/reports and derive improvement and measures for feedback loop towards system and software requirements (SYS.1 – SYS.3)
• Support the improvement of the feature designs based on provided test / analysis results and be able to perform hands-on measurements on test benches and in vehicles

WHO YOU ARE

• Completed studies in the field of electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science, information technology or a comparable field and several years of professional experience
• Experience in the testing with Ethernet based communication and protocols on automotive bus systems. Terms like ISO/OSI-model, IP Stack, VLAN Network, Routing, IPv6, SOME/IP should be your daily business
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, as well as a proactive mindset
• Experience in test strategy definition and stakeholder alignment
• Tools: DOORS, Jira, MS-Office ideally Wireshark, Codebeamer, CANoe
• Fluent English language skills (both oral and written) required, German is a plus
