We are currently looking for a German Direct Tax Senior Manager - ED (m/f/d)to join the EMEA Corporation Tax team in Frankfurt which is responsible for ensuring that JPMorgan meets its tax reporting obligations across EMEA. This role is focused on JPMorgan’s German corporate tax compliance obligations, including managing relationships with key stakeholders e.g. the German tax authority, internal and external auditors, regulators and colleagues within tax, finance and the lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant’s key responsibilities will be ensuring JPMorgan complies with its corporate tax compliance obligations including:
  • Management of the relationship with the German tax authority, including in relation to tax rulings and audits
  • Management of the German corporate tax computations, returns and payments and tax accounting entries in statutory accounts
  • Responding to tax-related questions from regulators and the firm’s internal and external auditors
  • Analysing the German tax implications of group reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals
  • Clearly and succinctly articulating tax risks to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Advising on the impact of new tax legislation in Germany

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • A qualified professional with a recognised accounting and/or tax qualification, ideally with a completed German Steuerberater exam
  • A strong knowledge of the German corporate tax regime and strong tax accounting skills, with experience of at least 15 years in these fields
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and influence others
  • An individual focussed on operating within and enhancing the existing tax risk and control framework
  • Fluency in English and German
  • Excellent research, analytical and reasoning skills
