What You’ll Do:

  • Build a deep understanding of Octopart’s products, value proposition, organization, and position in the electronic components market.
  • Develop customer relationships, where you are seen as the trusted advisor
  • Optimize existing business while prospecting within other departments, BU’s and geographies to build other relationships for mutual benefit
  • Provide consistent and data-driven solutions to existing and prospective customers that result in increased retention, improved customer experience, and win-win opportunities between Octopart and its partners.
  • Identify opportunities to “go deep” within existing accounts by building rapport with additional stakeholders, collecting feedback systematically, and mapping any changes in our existing stakeholders’ organizations, needs, and pain points.
  • Gather, analyze and present key program metrics that will enable Octopart to objectively assess and quantify account performance; allowing us to pivot appropriately, invest resources thoughtfully, and execute against actions based on program findings.
  • Identify new potential partners
  • Develop and maintain a business funnel/pipeline of new customers
  • Create a clearly defined sales strategy for engaging prospective partners, and earning their business
  • Achieve KPI and revenue targets
  • Manage the entire sales cycle from finding a client to securing a deal, and after sales support
  • Develop and deliver proposals and manage pricing and objections
  • Heavy use of CRM including tracking programs, meetings, scheduling calls, and capturing key information to ensure data integrity
  • Weekly customer planning
  • Continuous improvement: update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Contribute to Octopart’s account management “playbook” by gathering and operationalizing key learnings and recommendations that will ultimately improve our program experience and services.

Expected Outcomes:

  • Establish a deep understanding of the Octopart product offerings, internal processes, unique value proposition, pricing strategy, product features and competitive landscape.
  • You will have a deep understanding of each of your customers value propositions, and strategies. Your customers will be aware of all the current Octopart/Altium products and services.
  • You will create weekly and monthly sales plans to touch each customer on a regular cadence to ensure customer satisfaction
  • You will take share and displace the competition in each account
  • All customers will want to sponsor/participate in our newsletters, campaigns (banner, topline, retargeting, and x-reference), and Altium thought leadership programs
  • You will solicit comprehensive datasets from each of your partners, including, geography, new currency, non-stocks, exclusive brands, and NPI programs.
  • Component Mfgs will want to use the Octopart API to power their distributor inventory, and use our CAD services to help enhance their libraries
  • Identify and prioritize the top prospective customers. You will proactively engage prospective customers by setting, sharing, and executing a clear sales strategy as well as maintaining ongoing engagement with the current customer portfolio.
  • You will meet or exceed your KPI, revenue, and average CPC targets
  • Octopart will meet or exceed its revenue goals
  • You will be a subject matter expert and trusted advisor in the electronics industry
  • You will seek out potential Nexar partners, to include those contributing data to our feed, those consuming data, and a combination thereof
