The Role

We have built the KONUX Predictive Maintenance System for rail switches, the first AI-based solution for the rail industry. As a Senior Business Development Manager for China at KONUX, you will focus on the state owned railway infrastructure manager China Railway (CR). You will be responsible for evangelizing the concept of transforming railway operations to CR executives and convincing all relevant decision makers in your customer organization. Also, you will be responsible for building a strong ecosystem to enable the market entry of the KONUX system in China. You will report to the Head of Global Sales, and you will work closely with both the Global Sales team and the China team. You will be based in China and work remotely.

Your Responsibilities
  • Drive market insight to the Chinese railway industry, fostering the Go to Market strategy and the business model for China
  • Represent KONUX in the local market activities, and demonstrate KONUX innovation capability to the industry.
  • Build trustworthy relationships with China Railway General Corporation, local railway bureaus and relevant stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate in depth understanding of customer’s future business challenges and suggest customer-centric use cases through KONUX solutions
  • Negotiate, manage and develop trustful partnerships, define and execute a business plan with each partner.
  • Identify railway industrial processes & requirements, paving the way for KONUX product localization, homologation and certification.
  • Maximize the market impact of KONUX’s successful local implementation and create high value commercial opportunities.
Your Profile
  • 5+ years of experience in selling technological solutions and complex systems to railway companies in the target market
  • Familiarity with the railway infrastructure industry with an extensive network to state-owned railway infrastructure owners, industrial vendors of the railway, preferably in Track & Electrical Division.
  • Familiarity with new product introduction, budgeting and purchasing processes at China Railway
  • Driven by a strategic perspective and an out-of-the-box thinking, rather than following predefined processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of customer pain points and ability to propose meaningful solutions to customers.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Chinese and English
  • The idea of selling new technologies that are not yet categorized in customer procurement processes excites you
