We are now looking for a committed and motivated RF Modelling and ADK (assembly development kit) designer for our growing pre-development team in Rosenheim, Germany, to drive our research and early technology development in the PA domain targeting 6G!
Together we are working on all horizons: from the device technology to the package implementation, from novel designs and architectures to the end module prototype. The PAs cover all applicable power levels and frequency bands used for future mobile narrow band and broadband applications.
What you will do
- Be part of a highly diverse team with varied strengths and take part in all kinds of activities that comes with the role
- Belong to a team that works on all horizons, to advance the state of the art in the area of highly integrated Multi Chip PA multi-chip modules
- Contribute to efforts evaluating and developing where necessary, RF electrical compact models for existing and novel laminate, IPD and MMIC technologies.
- Drive test chip design and measurement / model extraction strategy for primarily passives, but also active devices
- Work with external suppliers to improve their RF compact models and PDKs
- Create and maintain simulation ADKs, which automate the simulation and tape out of Multi Chip modules, directly form the design environment
- Work with research/development of PAs for Ericsson’s future radio systems
- Have access to world leading characterization and prototyping facilities
- Work with people across multiple fields in radio development
- Work with innovation and adapt and respond to change
- Plan and prioritize your work
- Deliver results and meet customer expectations
You will bring
- Successfully completed studies: MS in Electronics or Engineering, Physics or an equivalent qualification
- Domain experience: Minimum 5 years or a PhD with 2 years of experience within PDK or ADK design are particularly advantageous
- Business understanding: It is meriting if you have experience from the semiconductor or semiconductor packaging industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High self-motivation and structured way of working
- Very good interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for teamwork and collaboration in an international environment
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
Core proficiencies considered as a merit during the evaluation process
- Experience building PDKs or ADKs for complex RF products is required
- Experience with hybrid or multi-chip modules (MCM) or monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) modelling is required
- Skilled in ADS or AWR. It is meriting if you have experience with 3D EM simulation tools (HFSS, CST, etc.)
- Comfortable with programming tasks in RF tools and preferably experience with C style languages
- Familiar with transistor and passive MMIC / IPD technologies, e.g. Gallium Nitride or Gallium Arsenide experience is a plus
- Familiar with all kinds of lab equipment (Vector Network Analyser, RF Signal generator, Wafer Probe stations), necessary for RF modelling work
