Responsibilities
  • Serves as a Pre-Kindergarten Program Associate in the CYS Services Strong Beginnings Pre-K Program.
  • Provides learning experiences in language and literacy, mathematics, social studies, science and discovery, music and movement, technology, citizenship, P.E. and creative expression to prepare children for school using The Creative Curriculum system.
  • Provides supervision, oversight, and accountability for children in compliance with DoD, Army and local policies, guidance, and standards. Maintains staff/child ratio requirements.
  • Evaluates academic and social growth of children and maintains appropriate records. Observes children for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed.
  • Implements an active program of parental involvement and encourages parent communication, observation and participation. Holds parents conferences to discuss children?s progress.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • In consideration of COVID-19, personnel within this area routinely wear personal protective equipment (cloth face coverings, latex gloves, and face shields) while performing their regular duties.
  • All required background checks of AR 215-3, must be successfully completed and maintained including Child and Youth National Agency Check with Inquiries (CNACI)
  • Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) is required.
  • A Health Assessment is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Qualifications
  • Meet Target-level requirements and satisfactory performance.
  • Possess eighteen (18) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
  • Possess and maintain a Child Development Associate {CDA) or Military School-Age Credential.
OR
  • Meet Entry -level requirements
  • Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
  • Possess AA degree with major emphasis in early childhood education or child development.
OR
  • Meet Entry -level requirements.
  • Possess BA/BS degree with a major emphasis in early childhood education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or related behavioral sciences.
Highly Preferred Criteria

Experience working as a Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant, Child and Youth Program Technician, or Child and Youth Program Assistant (Target Level - 4).

Area Of Consideration
  • The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is the commuting area of Grafenwoehr. The surrounding/commuting area is within approximately 100 miles and includes the communities of Ansbach, Hohenfels, and Vilseck.
