About This Organization

Squirrel News is a project dedicated to changing perspectives through solutions-oriented journalism. Our mission is to shine a light on the news that exposes us to original solutions, approaches and ideas. Our aim is to offer counterbalance and respite from the negativity of mainstream media, and the clickbait, doomsday and profit-driven journalism that often comes with it.

Public Relations - Public Relations Strategy

Squirrel News is a free, curated, non-profit app for solutions-focused news (squirrel-news.net). It helps readers in the English- and German-speaking world to quickly find relevant constructive news and stories which are otherwise rather difficult to find (as you probably know yourself).

The feedback from readers is great so far, but we still need help to get more visible and known, especially in the English-speaking world.

That’s why we’re looking for someone with experience in PR to help us expand our reach and and get featured in relevant news outlets. Experience, contacts and good ideas are more important than time here: Sometimes a few relevant calls can be more effective than several weeks spent writing cold emails. It may sound a bit cheap, but Squirrel News really makes many people happy (or at least a bit happier and more optimistic). Reaching more readers means to make the world more optimistic and to expand knowledge about chances and working solutions to social challenges. And it also helps us to create a more stable and sustainable basis for our project. The project is already live, take a look at squirrel-news.net. We offer a free app for Android and iOS, a free newsletter and we’re even working on two podcasts. Our international team consists of 10-15 persons, most os us are volunteers.
