The Finance team at Marley Spoon is growing, with a mission to provide business partnership using best-in-class financial data and analysis. Our aim is to help the company make the right, fact-based decisions to move the business forward. As part of this effort, we are now looking for an exceptional Treasury Manager.

What you will do: This role will have a strong focus on cash management and forecasting, along with other treasury related topics. The Treasury Manager will drive all cash reporting and forecasting topics and will work closely with all regions to provide visibility with regards to Marley Spoon’s current and future cash position. Along with cash topics, the Treasury Manager will maintain and develop Marley Spoon’s treasury management system further to enable the business to process payments across the globe seamlessly.

This role will be the first touchpoint for internal discussions for cash related topics in finance. The Treasury Manager will work closely with the regions to create and maintain new treasury processes as well as work on projects that will evolve Marley Spoon’s treasury over time.

What you will do:

• Perform cash management activities including the monitoring of cash balances, forecasting cash needs on a short and long-term basis, and reviewing cash transactions
• Build and enhance the weekly cash report (spend/receipts) including explaining drivers of cash variances to the forecast
• Effectively partner with external banks and advisors to successfully execute treasury operations and strategy
• Establish treasury related data analytics, KPIs, metrics, dashboards, etc. to support strategic decision making
• Maintain and develop Marley Spoon’s Treasury Management System (Integrity)
• Steer Marley Spoon’s liquidity management, including the flow of cash across the entities of the group, in cooperation with the accounting team
• Identify and implement solutions for improving working capital, including vendor payment strategies and card programs
• Manage supplier onboarding and credit processes
• Maintain an awareness of the macroeconomic environment(s) in which the Company operates and quantify these impacts on interest rates and currency rates
• Routine FX analysis including making recommendations on FX assumptions at quarterly forecasts, and ad hoc execution of FX trades
• Manage and enhance Marley Spoon’s payment release processes
• Manage Marley Spoon’s banking relationships and access to the entities’ bank accounts
• Collaborate with Accounting team on account reconciliations
  
  

Who you will work with: You will principally interact with the global Marley Spoon finance team, with heavy interaction with the regional Heads of Finance. Additionally, you will work side-by-side with our global accounting function, and our payments team based in Portugal.

This position is based in the Company’s headquarter office in Berlin, Germany

Requirements

Who we believe can excel in this role:

• A minimum of 6 years of Treasury experience
• Familiar with Finance, Accounting, and Banking concepts
• Familiar with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, TMS (Integrity from FIS preferably), and bank system connectivity
• Solid experience in cash management and forecasting
• Experience dealing with more complex Treasury matters such as FX hedging and interest rate forecasts
• Knowledge of payment formats and banking processes in the US, AU, and the EU
• Exceptional analytical and modeling skills
• Experience innovating and implementing new treasury business processes and systems
• Experience in the management of payment service providers is a plus
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where change is constant
• Clear communication style and comfort working in English fluently; German language skills are a plus
• Proactive, solution-oriented problem solver, comfortable working autonomously
• Proficient in Microsoft and Google Suites
