The PositionOur Solutions Workflow Simulations team partners with other functions to find optimal solutions for their business areas. For this, we continuously improve our tool-landscape for Sample Workflow Simulation & Optimization. We are looking for a Simulation Engineer expert in Discrete Event Simulation to support the evolution of current simulation tools.In this role your main responsibilities will consist of (but will not be limited to):
  • Responsible for analyzing the needs and elaborate the appropriate simulation/optimization models to provide the requested insights. That includes:
    • Analysis of the project needs, elucidate the requirements and prepare the planning for the different activities taking into consideration time, money and risks
    • Elaboration of the specification, functional and architectural design of the models.
    • Lead the development, validation and documentation of the models
    • Progress reporting, controlling and deviations management of activities development process
    • Manage external model development work packages if required on time and quality
    • Analyze and prepare data to be used as input for simulations and coordinate the execution of simulation studies
    • Applicate or coordinate the application of the elaborated models to support the design and development teams in the different phases of the system design project
    • Responsible for preparing and presenting detailed simulation/optimization result analysis. Supporting different roles inside the projects in putting them in context
    • Management of stakeholders and external partners of development including participation in related meetings.Ensuring efficient and effective communication and information flow within the project and stakeholders
  • Support the organization to incorporate simulations/optimizations methodologies in the development process to reduce uncertainty and be more time/cost effective
    • Coach system design roles as architect, lead system engineer. in the usage of simulations in model based design to mitigate risks, support decisions
    • Share knowledge and mentor other engineers to grow to similar levels of expertise and effectiveness
  • Continuous improvement of the models, scenarios and tools environment to enable effective optimizations & design studies
    • Constant optimization of processes within the simulation rounds or simulator building project to improve quality and efficiency
    • Establish concepts based on simulations/optimization and contribute in the creation of related Best Practices
    • Contribution to the simulation strategy and definition of the tool-roadmap
    • Collaborate in the simulator/optimization architecture roadmap. Also ensure the appropriate implementation of it
    • Permanently optimizes processes in order to increase quality and efficiency standards
Requirements of the Role:
  • University or higher technical college degree in Engineering, Data Science or Mathematics
  • Solid background and professions skills in the areas of data analysis, data visualization, optimization, and statistical modeling. Specifically Discrete Event Simulations area. Experience in material flow simulations will be appreciated
  • Strong experience in project management in complex distributed environments.
  • Experience in defining and managing external work packages with distributed teams
  • Experience in gathering business needs and translated them into prioritized backlog that can be transferred and executed by a development team
  • Experience in SW/HW Development processes will be valued
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture, machine learning and data solutions
  • Knowledge of Core Lab and Point of Care workflows will be highly appreciated
