Account Manager (m/f/d)

based in Schwalbach/Ts. (Frankfurt Rhein Main area)

As Account Manager you will be responsible for sales activities of the Olin Epoxy portfolio in Germany, Austria, Switzerland (DACH region).

The position involves strategic management of current sales while identifying new opportunities for unmet customer’s needs - driving profitable business growth.

Beyond today’s sales, a key objective is an ambitious growth strategy. This will require developing strong, in-depth relationships with customers in the assigned region. It will require a mentality to hunt for and convert opportunities.

Experience in account management around price, volume and product mix management is considered an advantage. Chemical education and/or Chemical industry experience is considered a plus but not mandatory.

Strong teamwork will be required between the individual assuming this role and other functions contributing to our growth initiatives. This would include Marketing, Sales Service, Technical Service and Research & Development among others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing knowledge of assigned Olin products and targeted applications
  • Creating and improving relationships with internal and external customers and influencers
  • Identifying of new opportunities, offering technical solutions and creating value for both, customer and Olin
  • Understanding and proactively analysing customer’s product and service needs, industry, and business, as well as recognizing and solving customer problems
  • Achieving sales goals and objectives in assigned territory as derived by business strategies and marketing plans
  • Sharing business and industry intelligence with Olin counterparts (marketing, research and development, tech service, customer service, etc.) to promote increased revenue and value

Qualifications:
  • Candidate must have at minimum a Bachelor’s degree; Master degree is considered a plus.
  • 2 - 3 years of sales experience in the Chemical industry or related products desired; other experiences will also be highly considered; e.g. Supply Chain, Commercial Excellence or Operations.
  • Ability to combine technical aptitude and commercial ability.
  • Ability to grow sales by developing key relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Ability to work independently (self-starter, initiative)
  • High level of motivation to achieve outstanding results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English are required. Any additional local language is a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time (this is in normal times & not in Covid times)
