Job Description:

The Product Owner (PO) is a member of the agile development team. She/He is responsible for defining, prioritizing and accepting the work done by the development team to ensure high-quality functionality of the As-Built Modeler software product.

At FARO, the Product Owner is part of the R&D (R&D) team and works in close contact with the Software Development Manager and Product Marketing to translate market requirements into actionable and specific user stories that are prioritized to maximize the value of output after each iteration.

As-Built Modeler enables the 3D evaluation of point clouds. Elaborate reverse engineering workflows allow the user to convert point clouds into both simple and semantically high-quality CAD models. They will play a key role in taking the product to the next level for the future of our industrial users.

Tasks and responsibilities. How you can make a difference at FARO:

  • They set the vision and direction for the As-Built Modeler Agile development team and stakeholders
  • You’ll work closely with product marketing to create and maintain a product backlog, analyze workflows and voice-of-customer data to understand professionals and customer needs, and translate professionals into actionable work tasks that are specific and measurable
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders, including analytics, design/user experience, customer service, IT, and sales
  • Work closely with software development managers to develop high-quality features.
  • Discuss technical details with software architects to align the product with our strategic goals
  • Communication of project status updates in regular meetings with all stakeholders after each development iteration
  • Helping the development team and Scrummaster remove organization-wide barriers by facilitating collaboration with other teams and representing the team’s voice in other areas of business
  • You promote the products internally by informing and educating all internal departments about new, improved products. They help to motivate the team to top performance

Job Requirements And Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or experience in product or project development
  • In-depth experience in the introduction of software or services in collaboration with engineering teams and a high level of knowledge in the areas of iterative development and understanding of Agile principles
  • Creative and strategic thinker
  • Coordination and communication of internal/external technical support and training of the product
  • High degree of organization, initiative, personal responsibility, presentation and leadership skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of the technologies used in the product and the workflows in the real user industry would be a plus
  • Experience in working with external partners
  • Very good knowledge of English and German spoken and written
  • Knowledge of agile processes and principles
  • Certification in agile project management is a plus
