Tasks

Graduate packaging concepts received from the Design team into a commercially released products through the design of parts and assemblies for release into mass production. This includes:

• Design of parts and assemblies for products with complex organic geometries.
• Design of parts for vacuum form moulding, plastic injection moulding and die-cut stamping.
• Selection of final materials used in production to best optimize design intent and cost to produce.
• Construction of white box prototypes for proof of concept and performance testing.
• Draft new performance test protocols and test plans for any new packaging features that are not present on current WOW Tech packaging.
• Create BOM’s for packaging concepts and graduate BOM’s throughout the development process to a released status.
• Selection of production materials used to best optimize design intent and cost to produce.
• Create SOP’s, technical drawings and other technical documentation for introduction of new packaging designs into production.
• Serve as technical liaison between manufacturing and project team and ensure packaging is successfully introduced into manufacturing.
• Develop packaging in compliance to in country specific regulations at the direction of the Quality and Compliance team.

Requirements

• Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or related majors.
• 7+ years proven experience developing innovative, creative and commercially successful consumer packaging designs
• Expert knowledge of SolidWorks and Adobe InDesign/Illustrator. Surfacing experience designing packaging for organic geometries is considered an asset.
• Strong interpersonal skills, team player and team leader.
• Excellent oral and written English communications skills. German or Chinese language – advantage.
