Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

You will become part of the Supply Chain team within the Bayer’s Product Platform Product Supply that delivers IT products and digital solutions for our Pharma PS organization. As Machine Learning Engineer you will take over responsibility for development of digital products within the areas of Supply Chain Management and External Manufacturing.
  • You drive all activities related to problem analysis as well as development and model building/adjustment through the whole lifecycle of digital products esp. applying LEAN and agile approach to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions in cloud environment
  • You perform complex simulation, optimization, modelling and machine learning research integrating multi-layered data models from internal and external sources
  • You support global product/process owners and IT product managers in analyzing white-spots and business pain points creating opportunities for existing or new data products and cloud solutions to close the discovered gaps and enable new ways of working and decision making
  • You lead scaling up activities transforming data science prototypes to industrialized end-to-end products by leveraging skills across a wide IT organization and involved operational business process domain experts
  • You collaborate with experts from different areas, like data scientists, IT product managers and business product owners in all areas of Product Supply like Production, Quality and Supply Chain teams to investigate planning and production behavior and develop data strategies to improve product performance and ultimately quality outcomes
Who You Are
  • Master’s degree in computer science, digital science, data science, business engineering, supply chain management, operations research, business administration or other related quantitative discipline, PhD would be preferable
  • You have industry experience and/or very strong academic records leading the delivery of groundbreaking machine learning / advanced analytics projects
  • You have experience with agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM, DevOps)
  • You are proficient with linear optimization frameworks or machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow
  • You have a broad understanding and experience regarding software development best practices (agile methodology, version control, CI/CD, clean code, MLOps, etc.) and project planning abilities
  • You have very good coding knowledge in Python and/or R
  • You have expertise in cloud computing (e.g. AWS, Azure) and dynamic application deployment and management
  • You have expertise in building partnerships, working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives as well as strong ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks
  • You are a result-oriented, motivated and proactive personality (m/f/d)
  • Very good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
