Are you that one person that always knows how to connect people, who can motivate others on the journey to success by creating the best solutions for your customers? Are you ready to work with some of the most known brand producers in EMEA and the World? Then we are looking for you! This is your opportunity to join a leading producer of sustainable premium quality vegetable oils and fats for the food manufacturing industry as our new Key Account Manager.We are searching for candidates who are based around Zaandam (the Netherlands) or Neuss (Germany). Home office arrangements are also possible.
Purpose of the job
As a Key Account Manager you are responsible for a customer set of about 5-7 well-known global and regional FMCG companies in EMEA. You will report directly to the Sales Director Key Accounts. Not a day will be the same, as our customers need us when they do, however you can be certain to be in daily contact; to discuss our customers continuous needs, negotiate prices, or to co-create innovation or supply chain projects.
Being a true trusted partner internally and externally, you get things done by connecting and cooperating with the right colleagues in our organization, such as our application technical support, trading and sustainability department as well as Global Account teams and global functions. Your understanding of your customer’s needs and market trends set you, the team you work with and our customers up for success.
In other words, your core responsibilities in this role will be to:
- Define and execute the account strategies– in conjunction with the Global Customer lead in case of Global Accounts;
- Establish and build on relationships with the accounts in EMEA;
- Set up cross-functional touchpoints with the accounts;
- Liaise and co-ordinate local supply chain requirements;
- Develop competitive pricing strategies;
- Build and maintain market intelligence through market mapping of all account relevant activities in the region and sharing relevant customer insights;
- Stay up to date on trends in the food industry.
As a Key Account Manager you are a real entrepreneur and able to work independently. You are eager to understand the functionality our products bring to your account’s applications. Of course, you have a problem-solving mindset and you are a team player who is result oriented and works autonomously. Furthermore, you are an exceptional communicator, naturally often recognized as trusted advisor and due to your strong project management skills you’re able to meet targets and deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor or Master degree in Economics, Food Science, Agri-Culture or related area;
- You bring at least 5 years of key account management (B2B) experience and have an established network in the world of food ingredients;
- Technical understanding of vegetable oils & fats applications is a plus;
- Fluency in English is required. German language is a big advantage;
- Willingness to travel if/when covid-19 situation allows (around 30%).
