Created on January 1st 2008, CMA Ships is a fully-owned subsidiary of CMA CGM with the objective to manage all fleet related operations.

CMA Ships is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified and operates under various flags’ Documents of Compliance (DOC).

A team of more than 4,700 seafarers of all nationalities including more than 300 cadets are working at sea and ashore. It includes a Marine Human Resources Department to accompany the seafarers, a fleet management department with more than 40 superintendents ashore, a dedicated department supervising the ship-buildings, the development of IT systems and working on energy issues and innovation with engine experts, a dedicated Purchasing department, a specialized team to organize the vessel dry docks as well as a team of experts to run the Fleet Navigation and Support Center to monitor the CMA CGM fleet 24/24.

With a modern and innovative fleet to the service of excellence and safety, tomorrow’s vessel devices are designed and tested such as LNG energy, engine tuning or hull shape optimization… acting every day for a more sustainable shipping Industry.

For the CMA Ships Germany entity in Hamburg we are recruiting a

Finance Manager (m/f/d)

Reporting to the Managing Director of CMA Ships you have the following responsibilities & duties:

To manage the finance team within CMA Ships Germany in Hamburg.
To ensure the dedicated Shared Service Centre accounting team is properly performing all expected daily AP tasks, and to give them proper guidelines to fulfil their mission.
To ensure an accurate and timely monthly closing (accruals, accounts matching, intercompany matching, reporting to HO Marseilles…).
To ensure all accounting activities are performed timely in accordance with client rules and in compliance with the regulations.
To monitor P&L evolution vs budget and regularly report to the top management.
To analyse P&L and Balance Sheet (variances, gaps…).
To ensure supplier invoices are recorded accurately and timely.
To manage all third parties’ payments and approve bank payments within bank portals & treasury tools as per bank signatory’s mandates.
To ensure bank reconciliations are accurate and performed timely.
To provide a monthly cash forecast file to CMA Ships SAS.
To monitor the netting process with other entities of the Group.
To monitor tax declaration in accordance with specific legal requirements.
To monitor transfer pricing documentation with the collaboration of a third-party consulting company.
To monitor the external audits.
To establish or update internal procedures and ensure implementation and application of Internal Control principles.
To ensure constructive and fruitful relationship with other departments and company’s partners in order to drive the organization’s financial performance, process improvement, and value addition to CMA CGM Group.
To review the employees’ payroll of CMA Ships Germany.
To set up the department’s monthly KPIs and to be a business partner for the managing director and HO Ships management.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Proficiency in MS Office applications especially in Excel

Proper command in formal English, both in written and oral

At least three years of the same or relevant experience
