We are looking for a recent graduate to join us as Digital Design Engineer - FPGA (m/f/d). The role is in the hardware design team in the Secure Mobile Transactions business within NXP Semiconductors. Our team delivers Secure Element system on chip solutions for mobile transactions (Secure Element plus NFC) to market leading customers. We are involved in all aspects of specification, design, verification and support of the products into very high mass production.
Your Responsibilities:
Synthesis, simulation and debug of Secure Element (SE) System on Chip (SoC) FPGA Bitfiles under guidance as part of the FPGA team
Interface with Design, Architecture, Firmware, Software and Validation teams to understand the function of the design and define and implement related FPGA requirements
Develop, debug and maintain FPGA synthesis constraints, test code for simulation, RTL behavioral models (e.g. RAM/ROM memories) and bitfile debug setups (e.g. Chipscope)
Your Profile:
Required:
Degree/Masters in Electronic and or Computer Engineering
Ability to code, read and simulate RTL in System Verilog and VHDL (e.g. Cadence Incisive)
Experience with FPGA synthesis (e.g. Synopsys Synplify) and bitfile debug (e.g. Xilinx ISE, Vivado)
Conceptual understanding of System on Chip components (e.g. CPUs, Caches, DMA, MMU, RAM,ROM, Flash, PLLs and peripheral interfaces)
Bonus:
Proficient Scripting skills (e.g. Perl , Tcl, Bash)
Working knowledge of AMBA buses (e.g. AHB, SPB) and common serial interfaces (e.g. I2C, SPI)
Basic proficiency in Object Oriented coding (e.g. C/Java)
Personal Traits:
Good team player with clear verbal and written communication skills
Flexible and adaptable with ability to put new information in context quickly
Rigorously analyzes complex problems and draws logical conclusion
Questions status quo and applies independent critical thinking to find flaws
Please note:
The successful candidate may/will be responsible for security related tasks.
The assignment may/will be in scope of security certifications, therefore a conscious and reliable way of working is necessary.
