The Position

For our German Wilhelmsen Ships Service branch we are looking for a full time ‘Account Manager’. As `Account Manager` you can work flexible, either remote or you can use a shared workspace in our office in Hamburg City.

In this position, you are responsible for the commercial results of your customer portfolio. You will be going to strengthen and further expand Wilhelmsen’s Marine Product portfolio and thus its market position with our customer following their needs. In this function you will report to the Sales Manager Germany, Poland & Baltics.

Supplying marine consumables, products, and solutions to every conceivable vessel type, our Marine Products division includes the Unitor brand of products, Timm ropes, Unicool refrigerants, and Unitor and Nalfleet marine chemicals. Last year we made product deliveries to 27,500 vessels, at over 2,000 ports.

What You Will Be Doing

In this Sales driven position you will drive profitable sales growth on from current and new customers within your assigned customer portfolio. You will hunt for new business from new customers and actively seek new opportunities with existing customers. You will develop robust and measurable Sales Activity Plans within your assigned customers and act assertively to deliver on the agreed targets. Within your daily work you will monitor and build the sales pipeline to achieve the targets as specific based on quality opportunities on existing accounts (share of wallet) and new business. Further you proactively utilize all available sales tools to relentlessly identify areas of sales growth and facilitate respective actions within your customer portfolio. In your daily work, you will closely work and align with and hand-over to internal stakeholders.

About The Department

The sales department consists out of many years of experienced commercial and technical sales experts within the maritime industry. Within the Team we encourage open communication as well as an open feedback culture. The sales department works in close collaboration with sales support, customer service and all related business units supporting sales.

Who You Are

You are an eager commercially driven person with an outgoing personality who wants to drive and grow sales in the German territory. You have the skill of gaining good understanding of the customer needs and the ability to provide them with the solutions Wilhelmsen Marine Products offer. Having the ability to work independently by structured planning and organizing your own work against deadlines and targets is very important, however at all times remembering you are part of a team working together as well as sharing knowledge to be successful. The desire to learn will help you to grow in our organisation.

Required Experience And Skills
  • A minimum of 3-5 years national and/or international sales experience in commercial and technical sales in the marine industry
  • Experience in sailing or other maritime engineering is an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proactive mindset as well as quality focus
  • IT literate/digital savviness, with experience from working with MS office, CRM systems preferably Salesforce
  • Experience in reading and analysing customer data
  • A passion for people and sales
  • Good command of German and English language (spoken & written)
  • Customer- focused mindset
