We are currently searching for a Lead Data Engineer for an innovative startup based in Munich building Edge Devices that utilise Deep Learning, Computer Vision and approaches such as Time Series Data for automation purposes

The business builds microcomputers that include an AI assistant for customers and link to cameras in facilities. These hardware devices allow for enhanced site security, automated access control via timestamping and the ability to analyse trends on customer usage. New features being built include features for logistics, contactless payments via number plate recognition to an app, and many more.

As a result of scaling the team to 70 this year, we are looking to hire an experienced Lead or Senior Data Engineer with hands-on management experience or a track record of mentoring looking to take the next step up This role will include:

  • Transitioning from batch processing to event based approaches using Kafka or Kinesis for data coming from distributed edge devices, and using databases like Timescale DB in an AWS environment.
  • Building and architecting Data Infrastructure, creating platforms or data frameworks for the use of building new products
  • Creating scalable cloud architecture and working heavily with Python alongside modern API approaches
  • Cementing a future-proof data strategy which opens up value internally and for customers.
