Your mission

As a part of the Infrastructure team around Herman, Carlo and Micha, you will be maintaining and improving the platform around technology at the heart of nyris: A high-available collection of micro services which powers our visual search tech. Our goal is to make the system resilient, maintainable, fault tolerant and easy to debug, so that no one ever has to fix problems outside working hours. While at the same time our customers get the best search results.

You will:
Analyse problems and conceive resilient solutions, that prevent similar problems from reoccurring.
Improve and maintain observability tools such as log, tracing and metrics collection and analyse, so we and the software developers can pinpoint problems quickly.
Set up and update alerts based on our metrics, so we are aware of problems, before anyone even notices.
Work on CI/CD pipelines to make deployments easy, automatic and safe, so that our software development team can perform updates and rollbacks reliably.
We move quickly and adjust to changing priorities and conditions, and you’ll be able to help us focus on key priorities and pragmatic solutions.

Your profile:
You should apply for this role if you:
Are able to manage your time, organize your work and structure your projects.
Know how to use library functions such as map, sort, filter or fold in programming languages.
Are experienced in running and building docker images.
Can read and interpret web server access log entries.
Are familiar with the TCP/IP stack and can use tools such as traceroute and wireshark to analyze networking problems.
Have a valid EU work permit.
