To connect data from different services and provide a consolidated view within our administration portal we decided on using Elastic Search. To maintain and adjust the index for our data to new requirements and to work on keeping the Elastic Search in a good and healthy state (maintainability, performance). We are searching for an expert who is already familiar with designing indexes and accessing the data in a performant way.

As part of our nine-person team, you are the responsible and contact partner for the area of elastic search. If you are familiar with Python and already have experience with index definition and know how to access data in a performant way, then apply now!

YOUR TASKS

  • You are part of a Scrum development team and work together with the team to achieve the sprint goals.
  • You have experience with Elastic Search and you are familiar with index definitions, autocompletions and custom analyzers.
  • You will use your Python experience to further develop the service that provides access to the Elastic Search index.
  • You advise the product owner on user stories and their technical impact
  • You support your team members through code reviews and like to work in pair or mob programming
  • You pay attention to testability, clean code and documentation in your code
  • Together with the team, you take responsibility for the operation and stability of our services.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience in software development and have worked extensively with Elastic Search and Python during this time
  • You have a high demand on code quality and good software craftsmanship
  • You have good communication skills in English and optionally also in German
  • You like our technology stack: ASP.NET 6, Python (Flask, SQLAlchemy), Elastic Search, git, gitlab-ci, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Service Bus, Azure Cloud
  • You are good at passing on your knowledge and supporting other developers in pair programming and code reviews
Helpful, but not mandatory:
  • You have Experience with ASP.NET 5 or newer
  • You have Experience with Azure, especially Service Bus, Azure
  • You are familiar with Kubernetes Service and Application Insights
  • You have Experience with creating CI/CD pipelines using gitlab-ci.
