In this position you are responsible for supporting the Schneider Electric sales teams with specific pursuits and help to translate requirements from our customers and metals process OEM’s by analyzing, understanding and translating customer projects requirements. Therefore, you will be client facing and supporting partners like Process OEMs and EPCs in their aim for efficiency to help decarbonize the steel process.

In this role you will be guiding quotation teams with focus on power systems and solutions, as well as the wider Schneider-Electric portfolio like Medium and Low voltage distribution, Drives, Services, Process Controls and various Digitization solutions. The ideal candidate will be capitalizing on their deep knowledge of customer processes in Primary and Secondary steel making and ideally also how current processes can transition to a lower carbon more sustainable process design. We hope you are across the themes of efficiency, integration, know about typical applications and decision criteria whilst you have the personal skills and ambition to work closely with Sales teams, pre-sales specialists, Solution Architects and various Lines of Business to support solution sales and project sales. We do this through direct or indirect channels leveraging relevant partners within the metals industry.

Your responsibilities:
  • In this position you will support the sales team and quotation team in analyzing customer quotation requirements, efficiently participate in customer, EPC and Process (OEM) engagements.
  • You will work closely with the power systems optimization team (BLAST), services and Industrial Automation teams to support optimizing the customer proposal to the most technically and commercially favorable position in line with sustainability, efficiency and digitization drivers from the client.
  • In addition, you will be responsible for the growth of the segment order intake for the green metals and traditional metals pull-through business as well as the growth of relationships with (P)OEMs.
  • You will be the solution architect in this position and demonstrate understanding of the offering and their alignment with client requirements. In addition, you innovate the existing offering.

About you:
  • The ideal candidate has completed a Bachelor of Science degree or higher within the field of electrical engineering with or equivalent vocational training with a proven track record in a similar position.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in the steel industry, preferably primary steel making operation, maintenance, design/engineering of customer applications and projects.
  • As ideal candidate you have also at least 2 years of experience in similar position in electrical power systems projects for the steel industry, knowledge of primary steel making automation, control and digital systems is a plus.
  • In addition, you have consulting and solution expertise to understand all processes and behaviors from the tender up to the offer and delivery of the complete metals’ solutions.
  • Ideally you have already gained good technical knowledge of the Schneider Electric Solution offers in MV and LV power systems and competitive offers and have knowledge of IIoT based solutions.
  • You speak fluent German & English with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Any additional language is an asset.
