Data Scientist Pharmacovigilance (m/f/d)


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Drive Pharmacovigilance’s (PV’s) transition to utilize novel advanced analytical tools and data sources
  • Provide expert knowledge to analytical projects, generate hypothesis and scoping in the area of pharmacovigilance and drive the definition, design,
    implementation and validation of advanced analytic algorithms and models
  • Transform data science prototypes to validated end to end solutions as well as perform complex simulation, modelling and machine learning
    algorithms and integrate multi-layered data models
  • Analyze diverse internal and external sources for value adding benefit/risk information concerning Bayer products by leveraging complex
    statistical and predictive models
  • Develop digital strategies to extract benefit/risk information from unstructured information, including literature, social media and adverse event
    source documents
  • Ensure FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable & Re-usable) data principles before including data sources in the PV data ecosystem
  • Develop dashboards for real time monitoring and trending of potential safety signals in external data sources
  • Build up and continuously update relevant process knowledge and contribute to the development of new of new analytical solutions as well as
    analyze and design business processes, determine solution constraints and other relevant facts and compile requirement specifications

WHO YOU ARE


  • University degree in data science, computer science, physics, mathematics, statistics, life sciences with several years of relevant experience
  • Professional experience in a GxP related life science industry, ideally in Pharmacovigilance, where big data analytics have a significant role
  • Very good experience in a big and complex data environment (structured and unstructured data sources), using advanced analytics, deep learning
    frameworks and machine learning algorithms
  • Profound understanding in statistical performance measures, trend analysis to determine abnormalities and a broad understanding in a variety of
    data environments and tools (like SAS, R, Python, Hadoop, Spark, Rapid Miner, Spotfire, etc.)
  • Very good business understanding of pharmaceutical medicine and delivery of healthcare and ability to collaborate with business teams as a
    sparring partner (m/f/d) to identify high-impact opportunities by leveraging extensive data assets
  • Good Pharmacovigilance knowledge (regulations, processes, best Practices) as well as strong leadership skills and competencies in cross
    functional teams
  • Strong relationship builder both internally and externally with a wide variety of partners from different cultures and organizational levels as well as
    high level of creativity with the ability to think outside the box
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
