Bioinformatics Scientist (m/f/d)


In the framework of a collaboration project between Bayer’s Pharma and Crop Science Divisions the Biomedical Data Science Group in Berlin

is seeking a passionate and creative scientist (bioinformaticians, computational biologists or equivalent) with recently
obtained PhD to join our team and help discover the next wave of immune oncology therapies.


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Help generate single cell data from immune oncology model systems using the 10x Genomics Chromium System
  • Help implement state-of-the-art bioinformatics pipelines to analyze single cell data
  • Analyze and interpret single cell data and communicate biological insights to bioinformatics and wet lab research colleagues in Berlin
  • Exchange bioinformatics solutions with colleagues from the Crop Science Division in Monheim, Germany and St. Louis, USA
  • Be part of an international & interdisciplinary research team closely interacting with your colleagues from the entire R&D organization
  • Strengthen the visibility of our research and scientific excellence through publishing and actively engaging with the scientific community

WHO YOU ARE


  • Degree in the fields of bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer science, physics, biochemistry, molecular biology, molecular medicine
    (or equivalent research activity); PhD desirable
  • Profound experience in developing computational biology/bioinformatics methods and proficiency in R or python. Track
    record of working with and interpreting large and complex data
  • Wet lab experience in particular with respect to tissue dissociation and single cell sequencing would be advantageous
  • High degree of self-motivation and autonomy with interest in life-long learning
  • Track record of publications and presentations showing your result-orientation and passion to innovate
  • Excellent team spirit & presentation skills along with the ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team environment with strong focus and ambition
  • English as working language in this highly international environment
