Tasks
With the continued organizational growth of Symrise, the appropriate governance, management and control of potential threats, risks and vulnerabilities has become crucial to assuring investments and corporate assets in line with global business strategy. The Cyber Risk Specialist will be pivotal in coordinating centralized IT security activities for sustainable Business Continuity Management (BCM) to ensure corporate resilience at the global level.
In this highly visible, cross-functional role, you will have the chance to leverage your broad professional experience in the field to further strengthen our internal capabilities, to provide consulting and expertise to senior business stakeholders, and to increase awareness of IT security risk management within the global organization.
Working closely with the internal IT Security Team and regional business partners, you will be responsible for evaluating demand and ensuring the alignment of security measures and resources according to Symrise’s IT & Digitalization Strategy for a holistic integration of IT Security and Continuity Planning.
Main responsibilities include:
- Continued development and maintenance of the IT Business Continuity Management including the design of guidelines ensuring the implementation of regulatory requirements
- Planning, conception and maintenance of global IT emergency processes with global BCM stakeholders and coordination of respective testing procedures
- Implementation and further development of Business Impact Analyses and Risk Assessments with the various BCM stakeholders
- Establishment and maintenance of a global IT security risk register with appropriate escalation processes and management reporting
- Responsibility for the IT security risk management process in order to assess threats, risks and vulnerabilities and take appropriate countermeasures
- Early-stage consulting of global departments in project planning and security risk evaluation
- Collaboration with global departments to identify areas for improvement in the IT security risk management process and proactively support the implementation of measures
- Support in development and coordination of target group-oriented awareness and training measures in the context of the IT security program
The position is located at our corporate headquarters in Holzminden, Germany.
Qualification
- Degree in IT Security, Information Technology or another relevant discipline
- Professional experience in the field of Information Security, IT Business Continuity Management or IT Risk Management
- Proven experience with conducting and analyzing business impact and risk assessments
- Security fundamentals with a solid understanding of security concepts, threats, vulnerabilities, risks, defenses, security principles and policies
- Knowledge in the area of standards development, implementation and compliance initiatives (e.g., ISO 27001/2, PCI, SOC)
- Strong knowledge of process management tools and methods
- Proven ability to effectively drive change within a multinational business environment
- Cultural awareness; strong interpersonal and intercultural competence
- Solution-oriented; highly analytical and structured approach to work
- Advanced presentation, influencing, and lateral leadership skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and German
