The work schedule for this position is:
Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications.
May be required to provide support at any one of the five (5) Consulate locations within Mission Germany.
Duties
The incumbent is a member of the Information System Center (ISC) staff and serves as the Computer Operator Supervisor (henceforth referred to as Supervisor) for the Local Area Network (LAN) at the American Embassy Berlin. The field of responsibility is applicable to all the Embassy’s Unclassified and Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU) LAN sites in Berlin. The Supervisor provides oversight and operational assistance to Embassy supported posts in Germany when required. The Supervisor receives direct and overall supervision from the Computer Management Specialist Position.
He/she supervises four (4) Computer Operators as well as answers client questions, troubleshoots problems, and assures an efficient customer support workflow by prioritizing assigned work orders and help desk requests. The Supervisor is expected to perform the full range of duties without assistance and without direct supervision while manning one of the four system locations in Berlin.
Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience in computer networking operations, including one year experience supervising personnel in a technical or network operations center environment is required.
A degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related major is required. MCSA, MCSE or any industry-relevant certification is required - copy must be submitted with the ERA application in order to be considered qualified.

LANGUAGE: Fluent English language skills (speaking/reading/writing) is required.

Benefits and Other Info

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
