Zalando’s Pricing Platform team provides the analytical and algorithmical backbone to recommend discounts for 500K+ articles in 20+ countries on an ongoing basis. Understanding how pricing adds to value creation for our customers is at the core of Pricing Analytics. We help our software development teams and pricing experts to take the best pricing and development decisions with data analytics products and insights on large scale data and constantly advance our understanding of long term customer lifetime value created by pricing decisions.

As a Team Lead Pricing Analytics , you and your team are quantifying the incremental impact of our price recommendation systems. You are developing scalable analytics products and shaping KPIs - providing insights, not just dashboards. Contributing to key initiatives, you and your team develop and use scalable A/B testing and structural time series frameworks for article-based pricing products - at the forefront of technology, tackling complex research and analytical challenges.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

  • With your business understanding you quantify and explain how Pricing decisions and tools create value based on a thorough understanding of the success metrics / KPIs, and how they are linked to Zalando’s vision and strategy.
  • Embrace innovation and create a technical environment for analysts to perform their work with state of the art tools.
  • Lead a diverse team of expert data analysts and shape the team’s vision by creating its long term research and methodology roadmap.
  • Empower, attract, and grow analytical talent and foster an inclusive and diverse team environment.
  • Drive collaboration and foster transparent communication across different teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • Academic background in a quantitative field (Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics)
  • Proven track record of 7+ years experience in analytics or data science industry with 2+ years of experience managing and developing analytics teams in a digital environment.
  • Strong technical background with advanced SQL skills and programming background (Python, Jupyter, Airflow, Databricks, Pandas). Excellent knowledge in coding for data retrieval, exploration and analysis.
  • Experience (4 years and above) in people and/or project leadership within a complex business environment. Proven track record in developing solutions from initial idea to production.
  • Understanding of the economics of online platforms and/or online fashion retailers and the commercial KPIs governing their success.
  • Excellent communication skills, clarity and structure.
  • Analytical thinking and attention to detail our field is characterized by complexity where details matter, therefore we are in constant need for rigorous and detailed reviews of our initiatives.
