Job Overview

The Industrial and Commercial Transportation (ICT) Business provides rugged interconnect solutions specifically designed for Truck, Bus, Agriculture, Construction and Recreational Vehicles.

We are seeking for a Manager (m/f/d) to lead our regional Test Engineering and Prototyping in Europe. The position will be based in Calw (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all product validation plans to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including automotive and Industrial & Commercial Transportation standard test procedures and test guidelines
• Maintain a deep understanding of Automotive and Industrial & Commercial Transportation Product Validation standards and prototyping technology trends.
• Identify Equipment investments needed to meet growth and earnings forecasts
• Develop and foster a professional test laboratory and engineering prototype shop environment
• Ensure validation tests are completed to plan with optimum efficiency
• Review and evaluate test methods and procedures under compliance with relevant standards,
• Ensure alignment with overall Validation / Engineering strategies of the ICT Europe
• Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures including safety rules, 5S+1 and Quality management in regards of IATF 16949, ISO 17025
• Technical face to the customer for important test & validation activities
• Proactively solve customer specific validation matters and assure conformance with customer requirements
• Provide regular project updates to management and escalate when project targets are jeopardized
• Establish effective cross-country communications, especially with development engineering
• Ensure best practices and lessons learned in Validation/Product Testing are appropriately transferred across all functions and departments
• Travel as required to production facilities and customers

Qualifications

• University degree required: Engineering degree (materials science, electro engineering, chemistry, physics, …) or similar
• 8+ years’ experience in various Engineering and Validation/Test Lab assignments. preferably in Automotive or Industrial & Commercial Transportation (ICT) Sector (at least 5 years of Managerial Experience)
• In-depth knowledge of automotive/ ICT specifications and automotive/ICT electronics and
• Knowledge of test procedures required for automotive/ICT parts
• Deep understanding and passion for contact physics (materials, surfaces, electrochemistry, crimping), electrical engineering, analytics (technologies. failure analysis) and measuring and testing technology (e.g. SEM. FT -IR. 3D CT) desired
• Strong ability to link customer needs and business processes
