Your Role: Senior Software Developer

As our Senior Software Developer, you will make Big Data “useful.” You take ownership of applications e.g., based on Java including the project budget and burndown. Solve Big Data problems for our customers throughout the project life cycle. You will work with our customers to identify requirements and design applications according to their needs. You are responsible for one or more developers, making sure they deliver their tasks at hand and leading the project team to growth and a collaborative attitude to steer our Big Data projects.

YOUR MISSION

• Develop big data applications based on Java and web technologies using common frameworks.

• Implement the customers’ requirements and execute the development of certain (complex) tasks.
• Make Big Data “useful” (build program code, test and deploy to various environments, design, and optimize data processing algorithms for our customers).
• Support our customers and development teams in transitioning capabilities from development and testing to operations/production.
• Develop big data applications based on Java and web technologies using common frameworks.
• Thoroughly document, test, and maintain backend solutions.
• Identify performance bottlenecks within the applications and address them accordingly.
• Debugging, reviewing, developing, and taking charge of complex solutions
• Responsible for project budget & burndown.
• Lead a development team, ensure high-quality standards, and best practices.

YOU WILL ENJOY THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE

• At least 5 years of experience with developing complex applications.
• Strong knowledge about microservices of all kinds
• Firmly grounded with Java, Scala, or Python
• Experience with non-functional such as security, performance, scalability, etc.
• Experience in leading a project team
• Verbal and written skills in English (a MUST), other (e.g., German, Russian, Spanish) an advantage
